Sound of the Sun

Variable size
Solar battery, Glassware, Vibration motor, Electronic parts

The light of the sun can be felt through sound in this installation work.
Glasses and bowls tinkle in coordination with the rays of sunlight filtering through the branches of trees. While a wind chime tinkles in accordance with the movement of the wind, this installation makes a sound in accordance with the sunlight. It sometime makes an intense sound like cicadas and sometimes makes a mild sound like a cricket.
A small solar panel is attached to the window glass, and when the amount of sunlight reaches a certain point, a vibration motor starts to move and rings the glasses. It represents the movement of clouds and changes in the shadows of trees and branches. It plays the rhythm of the varied light in various volumes during the daytime and evening.
